Huston was born on the 8th of July 1951, to John Huston and Enrica (a former ballerina) Huston. The family in 1953 moved into County Wicklow in Ireland from California. In the following year, they settled in the county Galway manor. Huston spent a large part of her growing up on the estate. Her father spent long periods away working on filming sets. Soma went away in 1962 and moved together with her two children to London.
